Manifestation for beginners

I know I speak about manifestation and energy all the time, but when we’re talking about embracing who we truly are, living up to our full potential and calling in what we want, how could we not take the time to properly discuss manifestation and the law of attraction?

The law of attraction is the theory that like attracts like. That positive thoughts attract positive outcomes while negative thoughts attract negative outcomes and so on

Manifestation is about bridging the gap between where you are now and where you want to be/what you want to achieve. When you prepare your mind and your nervous system for what’s to come and take the action required to actually achieve your goals

Manifesting is different to wishing for something, when you say things like “I wish” or “I want” you are subconsciously speaking from a place of lack, ultimately using the law of attraction to create more lack, the opposite outcome to what you wished for and wanted. It also places your power outside of yourself, limiting the energy flow, stopping what you truly desire from making its way to you

It is absolutely important to declare what you want but what’s even more important is that you’re aware of the steps between the deciding and the receiving. Using manifestation and visualisation you can empower yourself to take the aligned actions needed to actually achieve what you want

By visualising yourself throughout the different stages of progression and achievement you are training your mind and your nervous system for the potential challenges you may encounter along the way, making it a lot easier to persevere and continue on when you come across them for real, because everything within your being believes you have done so before

The brain can’t differentiate between real, lived experiences and detailed visualisations, so just by imaging yourself taking action, experiencing challenges, overcoming setbacks and successfully achieving your goals you are building resilience, strengthening your determination and creating so much self-belief that no self-doubt, limiting beliefs or imposter syndrome could stop you from pursuing or achieving what you’ve set your mind to

When manifesting and visualising tap into all of your senses. What can you hear and see around you? How do you feel within your body? What emotions are you experiencing? Linking your visualisations with emotions and other sensations helps to magnify intention, building a stronger connection with what you’re trying to manifest and helps to create an incredibly realistic vision leaving you feeling so confident in your own power and ability to obtain that future for yourself

Let’s get you started:

Get clear on the goals you’re going to achieve. You could meditate on it, journal about it or utilise any other methods that assist you in gaining clarity

Be open to what’s possible. Don’t limit yourself by thinking you aren’t capable of something, you are more than capable you have infinite, immeasurable potential so ask yourself honestly, what do you want to create?

Now, ask for it. By writing down and focusing on what you plan to achieve, you’re signalling to your brain and the universe that it’s actually important to you and not just another thing you might like to do one day. Creating strong intentions to manifest that reality

Take the first step and begin working towards your goals. The main difference between manifestation and the law of attraction is aligned action. Doing the work to create the life you want, instead of just hoping it’ll show up one day. Plan out the process step by step so the end goal doesn’t look so scary or unachievable

This is where visualisation becomes immensely beneficial. When you have already seen, felt and smelt the process you are prepared for what’s to come, you have already persevered through the tough times and came out victorious. You are ready

Acting as if you have already obtained what you’re working towards is another great manifestation tool. Speaking about the outcome as if it is your current reality attracts it towards you, making it your true reality. Even if your surroundings don’t fully align with that reality right now, continue to act as if they do so that when the time comes for you to obtain or achieve your goals, you are in alignment with them and ready to receive and embody them

Something that I feel is a major piece to manifesting, is gratitude. By being thankful for what you currently have, you attract more things to be grateful for. So even if you don’t have much money, only have a couple of friends or drive a beat-up old car, make sure you’re actively showing appreciation for what you do have, because it is just as possible to have less than it is to have more. As I mentioned earlier, if you focus on negativity and lack, you’ll attract more of it. So, what are you choosing?

Be mindful of any stories or limiting beliefs you may have or that others have spoken over you. You have the power to change your circumstances, whenever you are ready. Don’t listen to the voice in the back of your head telling you, you’re not good enough. Don’t listen to that family member or “friend” who dismisses your goals and dreams, you can achieve whatever you put your mind to. Their limiting language is just a projection of how they feel about themselves and what they believe they are or are not capable of. If you find yourself having thoughts that don’t serve you, do not make yourself wrong for that, just notice them and replace them with others that do

Release any expectations you have of how long it should take and keep an open mind to how it will appear in your life. Trust that what’s meant for you is on its way to you because the outcome could be greater than you ever imagined if you just give it the opportunity to arrive in its own time, in its own way

Even if you choose not to actively follow these steps, we are all subconsciously manifesting, all of the time. So, if the only thing you take away from this is that you have that ability then I’m okay with that, even if you just become more aware of your thoughts and intentions, that’s good too because you are in control of your life, you do not have to continue on the path you’re on if you do not want to. You have choice and you have power
